Moving out and moving in

A lot of big changes have occurred since I last posted. We've moved from the one room garage-turned-room at my mom's to a house we share with my sister-n-law and her boyfriend. It's a long and complicated story involving the house and the move-in and what-not and I'm not going to get into it. But right now, I'm happy.

For one thing, I have my own kitchen(!). It's actually nicely sized and has a ton of storage. The drawbacks include the wall oven, the stovetop, and the wallpaper (haha).

To explain, the wall oven is a 2 section thing but only has one dial so even if it did work properly I would have 2 areas that have to be the same temperature... I'm honestly not sure why that would be necessary or wanted... But then again, I wasn't cooking in the 70's so what do I know.. So there's that and the fact the the top and more accurate (it's only off by 50oF as opposed to the bottom section being off by over 200oF) section's door gets stuck and wont open. Can you say fire hazard?

The stovetop works quite well but you have to know how to use it cause if you turn the dial the wrong way, you'll think it's off when it's really on such a low simmer that you won't notice the fire. And sometimes the pilots go out so you have to watch for gas leak.... Sounds fun, huh?

And the wallpaper? Well, wallpaper rarely needs explaining... It used to be bright yellow with orange flowers and I'm sure it was very cheery then but now it's a uniform dingy yellow with orange flowers...sort of. Not terrible but I can't wait to change it...

It took me like 4 days of solid work to get the kitchen to where it is now. This including packing away the old, cleaning, and unpacking my stuff. I still have a few more items I need to get over here but most of it is now happily living in an actual kitchen. If my kitchen stuff were people, they would all have smiles on their faces.

During those days we also got our bedroom painted and cleaned so we could move our stuff in. It was crazy the amount of work we had to do. Even now, there is still so much needed to get done. And Jesse and I are not even fully moved out of the garage. We still have a ton of stuff there; stuff that needs to come here and stuff that just needs to be packed and labeled for later.
